Makaton Signing for Babies

Currently being delivered via zoom as a 5 week course for parents/carers and children to enhance their communication through using Makaton. Each session comprises of teaching signs/symbols to the adults, engaging children in activities, songs and stories and time to talk.

Makaton is a language programme using speech, signs and symbols to enhance communication. The Makaton Language Programme is included in the 'What Works' database, a moderated online library of evidenced interventions that aim to support children's speech, language and communication.

Makaton can help babies, children and adults with a range of communication and learning needs including Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Down Syndrome, where English is an additional language, following strokes or dementia and where there are difficulties with understanding, processing or expressive language.

Makaton Signing for Babies is currently delivered online live via zoom. Courses are delivered on a regular basis, please get in touch for future dates and booking information. Booking can be made directly via www.corrinelloydmakatontutorliverpool.co.uk

Courses are delivered by a fully licensed Regional Makaton Tutor and Early Years Teacher. Corrine holds a DBS and public liability insurance and has 14 years experience supporting people with additional needs.

Corrine delivers a range of Makaton workshops including, Level 1-4, Makaton Tasters, Makaton Signing for Babies Train the Trainer and will shortly be delivering Using Makaton with Singing. She is available for group bookings.

All ages and needs are welcome and successes will be celebrated within the group.

This course is open to babies from birth to pre-school and children both with and without communication difficulties.
