Merseyside Family Support (POPS)
POPS’ is contracted by the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership to provide practical and emotional support for families of 18-25 year olds who are being released from prison back to the Merseyside area.
The POPS' Family Support Worker (FSW) provides family members with advice, guidance, and support on a range of issues including;
· Finance, debts, benefits etc
· Housing matters; arrears, tenancy, issues, eviction risk etc
· Child concern and/ or child in need cases in need of support and non-statuary liaison with relevant services
· Emotional well-being,
· Maintaining positive relationships
The POPS' Family Support Worker will also communicate directly with the referring Offender Manager, providing written updates and key information to assist with management and completion of the service user's licence.
POPS is a charity established by prisoners' families which now provides support services for families in 11 prisons across the North-West and Yorkshire. We also have a number of community based projects supporting families upon release and are the current provider for the Farida Women's Centre, Oldham.

- Referral Details
Referrals received via the offender manager who can refer 18-25 year old men/ women into the project using the POPS' referral form. POPS' will then reach out to the prisoner & seek consent to contact their family.
