- Description
At our nursery we aim to provide welcoming and fully inclusive environments and provisions, ensuring close and effective partnerships with parents, families and other agencies to ensure we are meeting the needs of all the children attending our nursery as best we can.
We implement a play based curriculam that enables children acces to a good balance of child initiated and adult led play with a robust key person system in place facilitating strong relationships with children, partnerships with parents and effective monitoring of children's progress that supports early identification of SEN
With the implementation of the EYFS and strong key persons systems, provisions will be made to support and meet children's individual learning and developmental needs, including care and routines. From the onset of recording children's starting points and gathering information from parents, throughout their learning journey with us.
We have a nominated SENCO within nursery who is responsible for supporting our parents and families, practitioners and working closely and effectively with other agencies to support children with SEN.
At our nursery we have strong links with the Children's Centre team with access to specific support, advice, resources and information for children and families. As the nursery is based within the Centre we have access to a fully equipped sensory room and can keep updated on services and support networks within the Centre and local authority.
We link in with our local early years consortia to enable us to access advice, support, training and funding to help us in supporting and meeting the needs of our children and families with SEN.
