Vaccinations and immunisations

The Immunisation Team in Liverpool are a dedicated team of Registered Nurses, Clinical support workers and administration support who are highly skilled and experienced in supporting and working with young people to administer school aged immunisations.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says:

“The 2 public health interventions that have had the greatest impact on the world’s health are clean water and vaccines.”

It is important to protect our children, young people and communities against vaccine preventable diseases.

The team work with 132 primary schools and 35 secondary schools, independent schools, special schools, alternative education and also support young people who are home educated or not in education in the Liverpool area.

The team also identify specific cohorts of children aged one year, two years or five years who may have missed their routine childhood immunisations Find out more.

Consent for vaccinations is required from parents/carers until such an age when Gillick guidelines maybe used by the nurse to asses if a child can consent for themselves.
