Bridge College

Bridge College is a non-residential specialist FE college. We meet the needs of students up to the age of 25 years with learning difficulties and disabilities, complex needs, communication disorders and autism.

With our new state of the art campus, we have access to a wide range of leisure and community facilities in Manchester as well as parks and open spaces. This means our students can learn in lots of different settings and develop the skills needed for life as an active and valued young adult in your community. Students can experience our hydrotherapy pool, our sensory rooms and our rebound room within a wide programme of activities.

The effective multi-disciplinary assessment informs the young person’s learning programme and identifies the appropriate learning environment and support strategies.  This actively enables the young person to engage in a range of challenging and fun sessions.  Schools. Parents/carers and other agencies are invited to path planning meetings to support transition and consistency from college to home environments.

Our belief is that everyone should have the chance to achieve their potential, there are no exceptions.

Parents, carers, students and professionals are welcome to contact Bridge College directly or through the Together Trust’s main reception.

Most students think about applying in their last year of school, however it can take time to decide whether Bridge College is right for you and to have a full assessment of your needs, so it is a good idea to arrange to visit us well before this. Our advice is to apply in plenty of time.

Places are usually funded by the EFA and the local authority for students with a Learning Disability Assessment or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), although individualised budgets can be used for specific services.

Sometimes applying for a place at a specialist college can be hard because lots of questions are asked and you will be asked to consider alternatives – even if you don’t think they are right for you and are not your first choice. Don’t let that put you off – ask for help from your Connexions Advisor – and of course you can contact us at Bridge College too.

To get in touch or ask for an application, you can call, email or send us a message. You are welcome to visit us, just phone 0161 487 4293 or email admin@bridgecollege.ac.uk or send us a message via our website at https://www.togethertrust.org.uk/bridge-college/how-to-apply to arrange an appointment. We will send you further information and invite you to tour Bridge College.  We advise you apply in good time because it can take a while to fully assess your needs, process your application and secure funding.
