Arden College is located in the centre of Southport, a seaside town in West Lancashire. The college makes the most of its location, with much of the college and extended curriculum located within the community and vocational settings across the region. The college is a specialist college for students aged 16-25 years with learning difficulties and disabilities and/ or behavioural and social difficulties.
The college offers both day and residential placements, with residential provision available for 38 or 52 weeks. Respite placements are also available for learners. Placements are typically for up to three years and subject to regular reviews to ensure that student needs are being met. The focus is to ensure that learners are prepared for independent adult life as much as possible. This includes developing communication, functional skills, employability and skills for independent living.
Arden College is inspected by Ofsted and is graded as Good (June 2017). All of Arden’s residential units are inspected by CQC and are all rated as compliant.
As part of the Priory Group the college undergoes extensive internal reviews of quality and compliance against Ofsted and CQC outcomes.
