Starting School Courses

Run by two fully qualified Early Years Teachers with over 10 years experience and SENDCO Qualification, these courses are designed for parents of children starting reception in September. We look at the Foundation Stage Curriculum in detail and take parents through the expected standards of development required for end of year. We help parents to understand how to help their children with fun practical activities to engage them in maths, english, phonics and fine motor development. We provide parent only sessions followed by child and parent workshops which help children to engage in age apropriate activities and learn through play in a fun, practical environment.

Other notes

As fully qualified teachers with SENDCO qualifications and Play Therapy qualifications, we are able to support all families as they embark upon their journey with their little ones starting school. We cater for children with additional needs and are a fully inclusive service. We cover a range of areas across the city including South Liverpool, West Derby and Central Liverpool L1. We are expanding as demand increases for our courses and classes. We look to offer support, guidance, and advice for parents to reduce anxiety and help children to make the best possible progress through supporting parents in their knowledge of the Foundation Stage expectations and the transition process. We can support parents of those children who have been referred to ASD Pathways with routines and visual timetables to reduce anxiety surrounding school and transition.
