New Start is a supported accommodation service offering a variety of temporary supported housing solutions for homeless people or people with little or no housing choice. If you have clients that are looking for temporary supported, please see below for a list of our current projects and services.
With more than 20 years of work and development in the social care sector, the organisation has grown into a well-established and successful Merseyside-based social enterprise.
Applicants who access New Start accommodation will benefit from a fully furnished modern home that is ready to move into. They will also be allocated a support worker who will work with them to establish what areas of their life they need support with, alongside identifying an achievable move-on plan that also encompasses the development of their independent living skills.
Community Housing Scheme (CHS)
New Start’s Community Housing Scheme (CHS) offers a range of self-contained flats, house’s, and shared accommodation for single individuals who are unable to access the private sector due to no deposit or references and/or problems with rent arrears / multiple evictions.
New Start's Harmony Project provides 'alcohol and drug-free' living environments for individuals at varying stages of their recovery. The project offers a shared living model in which each property has its own mini community to further enhance residents’ recovery journeys.
New Roots is a homelessness prevention and resettlement project for refugees ready to access mainstream services once their assistance from the UK Borders Agency (UKBA) has lapsed. The project is the ‘next step’ in attaining suitable housing once Refugees receive their status and are ready to leave Home Office funded accommodation.
New Start's Dispersed Service is a commissioned service which is delivered as part of our work with Liverpool Accommodation Based Services Consortium (LABSC). This service is a supported housing project made available to vulnerable individuals in the Liverpool area who are either homeless or under the threat of homelessness, and who require a safe and secure home environment.
Prospect Lodge is a temporary accommodation and support service for individuals who are homeless / or at risk of becoming homeless. The service is staffed 24 hours per day by a team of dedicated Project Workers who work closely with Service Users to get them ready for a more stable housing solution.
The Belmont Drive Project is a temporary accommodation and support service for single homeless people who are identified as being high risk/high need and demonstrate chaotic life style choices. The service consists of 11 self-contained, 1-bedroom starter flats which are fully furnished and equipped to assist new tenants in settling into their surroundings, and working towards achieving a more stable lifestyle.
Newsham Drive Harm Reduction Service
New Start’s Harm Reduction Service is a female only service providing a unique package of support and accommodation for women who face multiple disadvantages.The provision of support focuses upon women’s expressed needs and lived experience and considers ALL areas of the female’s life from a holistic perspective to identify harm, encourage harm minimisation strategies and assist with gradually becoming more stable. Underpinning this work is a Harm Reduction Model that encompasses respect, acceptance, compassion, collaboration and empowerment.
RISE Recovery Service
New Start’s Step-Down Recovery Service is a 21 unit, state-of-the-art, fully modernised building based in the South of Liverpool. The service is core component of Liverpool funded RISE substance and alcohol misuse recovery pathway which we deliver in partnership with Liverpool & Sefton YMCA. At the Step Down we offer a 24/7 safe, abstinence focused, post-treatment care and support to those who have successfully completed a period of rehabilitation.
