ADDvanced Solutions Community Network

Part of the Liverpool CAMHS Partnership delivering the social model of learning and support for the neurodevelopmental pathway, at ADDvanced Solutions Community Network, we encourage, equip and empower children, young people and their families living with neurodevelopmental conditions, specific associated learning difficulties and associated mental health needs.

 

Our engaging, community-based learning, coaching and mentoring programmes help families better recognise, understand and meet their individual needs, enabling them to manage daily challenges.

Regardless of where you live, you can access our community network groups that raise awareness, develop skills, share learning experiences, and build confidence.

What we offer in Liverpool

Our Autism Post-Diagnosis Programme has been designed to help parents and carers develop their understanding of autism. Sessions will cover a range of subjects, including discussing a diagnosis of autism, communication skills, sensory processing differences, and self-esteem. Parents will learn valuable strategies for supporting their children with daily life. The overall aim is to empower parents to help their children achieve their full potential. 

The sessions will cover a range of useful topics:

 

Understanding autism  Communication skills

Autism and girls Talking about health 
Sensory processing differences Building positive relationships
Unique thought processes & special interests Educational settings: working together   
Stress and anxiety Managing transition
Understanding and supporting behaviour Independence skills    

 

If you have concerns about your child’s behaviour or progress at school, our weekly community network groups offer support to help you learn, understand and meet the needs of your child and family.

Each week we deliver informal workshops on different subjects to support you and your family at all stages of your journey - pre, during and post-diagnosis; there’s no need to book, come along and meet families in similar situations to share learning and experiences.

Our Community Network Groups take place in the following locations:

  • Belle Vale Community Network Group, Belle Vale Children’s Centre: Hedgefield Road Belle Vale. L25 2RW. Every Tuesday during term time 9.30 am–11.30 am
  • Online Community Network Group (via Zoom), every Monday 9:30 am - 11:00 am and Wednesday  5.00 pm - 6.30 pm during term time. To join online, visit the website www.addvancedsolutions.co.uk and book via the Liverpool calendar. 

 

All our workshops are needs-led for parents and carers. Covering the full range of neurodevelopmental conditions, learning difficulties and associated mental health needs, they include topics such as advocating for children, SEND jargon buster, sharing a diagnosis with children, tantrums v's meltdowns, sibling rivalry, and building a positive relationship with the school.

These groups feature open-access, solution-focused drop-ins designed to explore and identify the right solutions for you. We partner with many professionals you may meet on your journey, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, nurse practitioners, the SEND team, SENDIASS, family support and many others. There's no need to book in advance; we welcome you to come along, meet the team and our partners, and ask questions or talk about anything concerning you as a parent/carer of a child or young person living with a neurodevelopmental condition.

 


 

Our Family Learning Programme is designed for parents, carers and supporters in Liverpool who wish to gain knowledge and skills about your child's neurodevelopmental condition, with strategies to support the difficulties that may present around:

  • Neurodevelopmental conditions/learning difficulties and associated mental health difficulties
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder/Condition (ASD/C)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Sensory Processing/Integration Difficulties (SPD)
  • Challenging behaviours including sleep eating and toileting difficulties associated with ND conditions
  • Your local offer, welfare rights and Special Educational Needs support

This programme supports parents, carers and supporters pre, during and post-diagnosis to better identify, recognise and manage the behaviours that present because of different neurodevelopmental conditions.

The service is commissioned by Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for the NHS  to provide a service for the neurodevelopmental pathway pre, during and post-diagnosis. This learning programme is for those who live in the Liverpool City Council area.


 Our Sensory Processing Difficulties Awareness Raising Training is delivered in partnership with the Liverpool Occupational Therapists, advanced practitioners in Sensory Integration.

Supporting parents, carers and supporters who have a child/children presenting with sensory-based behaviours, this awareness-raising training looks at the theory of Sensory Integration, an overview of the senses, praxis and posture and; modulating behaviours through the use of sensory strategies.

Offering practical solutions on making positive changes, this awareness-raising supports parents and carers, helping them understand the theory behind sensory processing difficulties.


 

Our Eating Difficulties Awareness Raising Training helps parents and carers whose children are struggling with eating challenges and restricted food intake because of sensory processing difficulties. Supported by Liverpool occupational therapists, paediatric dietitians and speech and language therapists, the programme aims to reduce stress around eating, offering a range of strategies to develop an improved relationship with food.

NB: To attend this learning programme, you must have attended the ADDvanced Solutions Community Network Sensory processing course. This programme is for families living in the Liverpool City Council area; it’s aimed at parents and carers of children under the age of 12.

Family Activity Days

Join other families and us on our family activity days. Taking place during school holidays, they include trips to the park, fun days, walks with the ranger, cookery activity days and days out.
