Local Solutions Homecare

Local Solutions is a unique and diverse social enterprise predominantly operating across the North West of England.  As a not-for-profit, registered Charity, the organisation provides a comprehensive range of services for local people.

Local Solutions Community Care Service provides care and support to people in order to meet their social and personal care needs.  We provide this support in the Service Users own home, at times which are suitable and convenient.  We place the rights of our Service Users at the forefront of our care philosophy.

Local Solutions aims to enable and encourage Service Users to live as full, active and            independent lifestyles as possible.  The scope and duration of our services is agreed in a plan of care, which is underpinned by the ethos of improving people’s lives.

When you realise that you may want care, you may wish to  approach us direct. Or, you may have been referred to us by the social services department where you first went for help, and which has accepted at least some financial responsibility for the cost of your care.

There are many ways in which services can be commissioned with Local Solutions, and   therefore can be funded by the Local Authority, the Health Authority or directly by the       Service User / their representative.

For services commissioned through the Health or Local Authority, Local Solutions will charge them directly for services we provide.  There may be a fee from the Authority which they will charge the Service User directly and therefore you should speak to Social Services about any charges you would need to pay for your service.

Local Solutions can also provide services which are funded directly by the Service User / their representatives.  If this is the case, we would enter a private arrangement with you, in which we would have a written Private Service Contract which outlines information regarding   charges, methods of payment and terms of service.  The cost of a private service is around £10 per hour.

Before we provide any services, we will need to talk with you and a member of your family, a carer or a representative (if this applies), and the social services department which contacted us.  From the start, we need to be sure that the services we provide are going to be suitable for you, and we can only do this by talking to you.
