LSCP Harmful Practices (Female Genital Mutilation/Forced Marriage/so called ‘Honour’ Based Violence)

One day training programme aimed at raising the knowledge and awareness of staff working in key services and agencies within Liverpool to enable them to respond sensitively and appropriately to situations involving harmful practices. The session will examine key issues in relation to Forced Marriage (FM), Honour Based Violence (HBV) and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), share information about support services and disseminate good practice.

 Who Should Attend?

The session  is aimed at Adult or Child practitioners and professionals from multi agency settings: Social workers, Education & Schools’ staff, Safeguarding Leads, Police & Health and those within the Voluntary/Third sector.

Attendees must attend for the full duration of the session in order to receive a certificate of attendance.

  • To describe the impact on the individual, families, community and professionals
  • To highlight the legal implications
  • To clarify the policies and procedures used to protect victims
