Cressington Manor Nursery, Newhall, is an exciting, new, state-of-the-art Childcare facility based in the Newhall area of Fazakerley, North Liverpool. Closely located to the main motorway network, we are ideally situated for the daily commute. We offer 15 hours free childcare for eligible two year olds.
We also offer the Universal 15 hours free childcare for all 3 and 4 year olds, and extended 30 hours entitlement for eligible 3 and 4 year olds on a term time or stretched offer basis.

1. How does the setting know if children need extra help and what should I do if I think my child may have special educational needs?
When you join our setting a full induction will be completed, we will ask you about what your child knows, enjoys and what they are able to do already. Our team is highly trained and experienced in Early Years Foundation Stage education. We observe the children closely monitoring their interest, skills abilities using the Early Years Outcomes to keep a record that highlights if the children are developing typically for their age. We will work closely with parents at all times to track your child’s progress and ensure that your child is reaching appropriate developmental milestones.
Children at our setting receive a progress check at 2 years of age. Your child’s Key Person will undertake an assessment of your child taking into account the three prime areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), they include: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language & Physical Development.
Staff members will liaise daily with children's parents/carers to share crucial information about progress made as well as identify any potential developmental delay concerns.
If there are concerns about a child’s progress, or if a child needs additional support, this will be identified early with necessary actions undertaken by appropriate members of staff.
For some children, our SENco will use an Early Help Assessment Tool (EHAT) to identify support required and to establish which individuals or agencies need to be involved.
We are well placed to be able to support your child and be able to signpost you to other agencies should this be needed.
2. How will the staff in the setting support my child?
All staff work in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager/SENCO to ensure the needs of children are identified early. High quality teaching and learning coupled with good provision both indoors and outdoors ensures that all children's individual needs are met.
We plan for children's next steps through identifying individual interests and progress made. Our SENco has received training to develop play plans for children who may need additional support. Play plans are shared and discussed with the child’s parent/carer, which ensures that there is a clear understanding of the agreed targets between home and nursery.
3. How will the curriculum be matched to my child's needs?
A key focus on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) prime areas ensures a strong foundation for future learning is established. Staff members are skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet individual needs and this is embedded throughout the observation, planning and assessment cycle.
Our nursery provides an engaging and exciting curriculum in the 7 areas of learning for all children based on individual’s interest. Staff members will plan for the variety of needs in their room by providing resources that will achieve outcomes to consolidate and extend children’s learning.
We provide opportunities for children to engage in exploratory and spontaneous play. Our curriculum enables children to work both independently and collaboratively. All staff members are well trained to support children sensitively and use thoughtful dialogue to promote thinking and learning.
4. What specialist services and expertise can be accessed by the setting?
We are active members of the Liverpool consortia and work closely with the speech and language team, Educational psychologists and our Local Authority.
Cressington Manor is a member of the National Day Nursery Association (NDNA).

5. How accessible is the setting?
Our setting is wheel chair and Special Needs accessible. We have disabled facilities for both children and their families.
All prospective parents/carers receive a ‘show around’ and information about what the setting provides for your child will be explained. Parents/Carers are able to discuss children’s individual needs. A welcome pack is given to parents, which provides more information about our setting.
We are happy to discuss your child’s individual needs and to make reasonable adjustments should these be required.
6. How will the setting support my child in transferring to the next stage of education?
We work closely with many schools in Liverpool and have established firm links with our local feeder primary school. Teachers are invited to visit the nursery and meet with a child’s key person to discuss a child’s learning and development. The nursery offers children and Families the opportunity for them to attend their new setting with their key worker from Cressington Manor.
Staff members prepare children for school by providing school uniforms within role play and also introduce stories and games related to a school experience.
7. How are parents involved in the setting? How can I be involved?
Parents are encouraged to complete Interests at home with their child’s Key Person.
We invite parents/carers to discuss their child’s progress regularly.
We encourage parents/carers to share their skills with children, for example, one of our parents is an art teacher has come along and carried out an activity with the children.
A suggestion box is provided in our reception area, along with a notice board providing information for parents/carers.
Active parent involvement is encouraged at fundraising events.
We provide bespoke support to parents to identify individual targets for Development and work closely with parents to support them in how to support their child’s development.
